TSGE Presidential Update - Fall 2025

Dear TSGE Members,

This past weekend in Houston, we had the honor of celebrating a milestone in our society's history - the 50th Annual TSGE Scientific Course and Golden Anniversary. I am thrilled to share that the meeting was a tremendous success, thanks to the energy, engagement, and commitment to our members, fellows, faculty, and industry partners.

We welcomed a records number of fellows, attendees, and exhibitors, reflecting the incredible growth and vitality of our society. Our revamped Hands-On Endoscopy Course was a highlight, featuring collaboration with 10 industry partners and instructions from 6 outstanding advanced endoscopy faculty. For the first time, we proudly inducted the inaugural class of Fellows of the TSGE, recognizing leaders who embody our mission of education, advocacy, and service.

We also took time to honor our society's roots - celebrating the contributions of our past presidents and paying a heartfelt tribute to the late Dr. John Fordtran, whose impact on gastroenterology is immeasurable. The academic program was nothing short of stellar, with world-class presentations delivered by both national experts and our own Texas faculty.

The weekend concluded with a joyous member-wide celebration, commemorating not only 50 years of progress, but also the strength of our community and the bright future ahead for TSGE.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this historic event unforgettable. I look forward to building on this momentum together as we begin the next chapter of TSGE's journey.

With gratitude,
Prashant Kedia, MD, FACG, FASGE
President, Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy
