Our Purpose
The Academic Task Force of TSGE promotes professional development of fellows and faculty members and enhances exchanges between academic programs and the GI community at large in education and practice development.
The task force brings academic GI programs across Texas together around projects aimed squarely at fellows and junior faculty — the future of the society. Its work runs from funding early research to giving fellows a statewide audience for their cases.

Research Funding
TSGE Research Grant
A $10,000 grant funding research in gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy, open to junior GI and hepatology faculty across Texas. The grant supports research, education, disease awareness and prevention, and patient-supported activities. The winner is recognized at the TSGE Annual Meeting.
Fellow Education
Clinical Case Conference Series
Free, held over Zoom. Two pre-selected fellows each present a 20-minute case — the details, the interventions performed, the outcomes, and a short literature overview — with feedback from fellows and faculty across the state.
Fellows and residents: membership is free
TSGE membership is complimentary for the full duration of your residency or fellowship. That includes the Clinical Case Conference Series, grand rounds, and the annual meeting.
