TSGE Presidential Update - Summer 2026

Dear TSGE Members,

As we move into another exciting season as a society, I am energized by the continued growth, engagement, and momentum across the Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. TSGE continues to thrive because of the passion and involvement of our members, and I am proud to share several exciting updates as we prepare for an outstanding year ahead.

Most notably, preparations are well underway for the 51st Annual TSGE Meeting, taking place September 18-20, 2026, at the Austin Marriott Downtown in Austin, Texas. Our program committee and leadership team have been working diligently to build a meeting that delivers exceptional educational content, meaningful networking opportunities, and practical career development for all stages of practice.

This year's course will feature several exciting highlights:

  • The Endoscopy Hands-On Course is doubling in size, allowing for expanded participation and an even more immersive educational experience.
  • Our highly valued educational and networking programs remain in full effect, including the APP Track, Friday Fellows Symposium, Rise and Shine Women's Breakfast, and the Independent Practice Committee Breakfast
  • We are also thrilled to introduce a new TSGE Job Fair, designed specifically for fellows and practicing gastroenterologists seeking new career opportunities. Whether you are exploring your first position or considering a career transition, we encourage attendees to bring their CVs - you may arrive at the meeting looking for opportunities and leave with your next job.

Beyond the annual meeting, one of the initiatives I am most excited about is the launch and rapid growth of the TSGE Regional Chapter Program. This initiative has officially taken flight, with multiple successful local events already held across the state, including in Houston and Dallas. These regional gatherings are helping strengthen our GI community at the local level while fostering education, mentorship, and collegiality closer to home. Be on the lookout for upcoming TSGE-sponsored events in your area as we continue expanding this program statewide.

Our society itself continues to grow at an incredible pace. TSGE membership has now surpassed 1,000 active members, reflecting the strength and vitality of our organization. With this growth comes an even greater responsibility to advocate for our specialty and support the next generation of gastroenterologists.

Thank you for your continued engagement, support, and dedication to TSGE. I look forward to seeing you all in Austin this September for what promises to be an exceptional 51st Annual Meeting.

Sincerely,

Prashant Kedia, MD, FACG, FASGE
President, Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy
